The school day

• Gates Open: 8:20am 

• Classroom Doors Open: 8:25am – 8:35am 
  During this time, children are welcomed into class and registration takes place. Learning begins straight away, so it’s important that children arrive on time and are ready to start their day. 
  Any child arriving after 8:35am will be marked as late. 

• Morning Break: 15 minutes 
  All children enjoy a short break to refresh and recharge mid-morning. 

• Lunch Break: 50 minutes 
  A chance to eat, play, and socialise with friends in a safe and supervised environment. 

• Gates Reopen: 2:45pm 

• End of the School Day: 2:55pm 
  Children are dismissed from their classrooms. We ask that parents and carers collect their children promptly. 

• Late Collection: Any child not collected by 3:05pm will be taken to the school office, where they will need to be collected by an authorised adult. 

We appreciate your support in ensuring your child arrives on time and is collected promptly, helping us to maintain a smooth and safe school day for everyone. 

Nursery 

Our Nursery offers a warm, nurturing environment where our youngest learners begin their journey with us. We provide two daily sessions to support the needs of families, as well as full-day places for eligible 30-hour pupils. 

• Morning Session: 8:25am – 11:25am 
  Children should be dropped off at the playground entrance to Nursery and collected from the school office at the end of the session. 

• Afternoon Session: 12:00pm – 3:00pm 
  Children should be dropped off at the school office and collected from the playground entrance to Nursery. 

• 30-Hour Places: 
  Children attending for the full day should be dropped off and collected from the playground entrance at the start and end of the school day. 

We ask that all children are dropped off and collected promptly to ensure a smooth and settled start and end to each session. Our Nursery team is always available to support families and ensure every child feels safe, happy, and ready to learn. 

HLC Primary core school hours are 32.5hours a week, in line with DFE statutory requirements, including breaks but not after-school activities.
